Five preview performances of Jon Kern’s Modern Terrorism have been canceled due to the illness of an actor. No understudies are listed in the production’s program. The Second Stage production canceled previews on September 30, October 2 and two performances on October 3. Performances are scheduled to resume on October 4, but opening night has been shifted from October 15 to October 18.
Directed by Peter DuBois, Modern Terrorism, or They Who Want to Kill Us and How We Learn to Love Them is a controversial satire about an underground group of 21st century terrorists and their darkly comic misadventures. As a young bomber develops feelings for his conspirator and a hipster neighbor gets caught up in the plans, circumstances spiral out of control. Modern Terrorism stars Utkarsh Ambudkar as Rahim, Steven Boyer as Jerome, William Jackson Harper as Qala and Nitya Vidysagar as Yalda.
